Irma Pineda, Zapotec Poet, Present at UNAM Chicago as Part of the Lit & Luz Festival.

With the presence of Zapotec poet Irma Pineda, UNAM Chicago hosted the Lit & Luz Festival, which brings together a series of events featuring renowned writers, visual artists, and musicians from Chicago and Mexico.

The festival took place in Chicago during the fall, followed by the Lit & Luz Festival CDMX in the winter.

Irma Pineda, a graduate in Communication from UNAM, is the author of various books, such as Naxiña’ Rului’ ladxe (Red Desire) and Guie’ ni (The Flower That Was Taken), among many others.

Additionally, she has been published in different newspapers, magazines, and anthologies in Mexico, the United States, and Italy. Her work has been translated into English, Italian, German, Serbian, Russian, and Portuguese.
